Beadle / Beadle and Adams / Adams and Company
The Mayne Reid "dime novels" were initially not going to be part of
this site. This is not an area that I have any expertise but I am
including some basic information regarding these works. As pictures
become available, I will include them here.
From Albert Johannsen's "The House of Beadle and Adams":
In January, 1868 Mayne Reid entered into an agreement with Beadle &
Co. to write a number of novels for its publications.
"The Helpless Hand" was followed by "The Scalp Hunters", "The White
Squaw" and "The Yellow Chief".

Thereafter other stories were published and were reprinted numerous
times in the various Beadle/ Beadle and Adams’ publications.
Here is a list of the various publishing names that are encompassed by
the House of Beadle and Adams between 1852 and 1898.
