Robert Bonner's Sons, New York
Robert Bonner (1824-1899) purchased the Merchant Ledger in 1851 and
changed its name to New York Ledger in 1855. He was well known as a
publisher as well as a horse breeder. Bonner turned over the management
of the newspaper to his three sons in 1887. The firm at that time was
renamed Robert Bonner's Sons.
This story first appeared in the New York Ledger in 1879, thus, the
copyright of 1879.

In 1893 Cris Rock was part of Robert Bonner's Sons Popular Series. It
was #32 in this paperback series. It cost 25 cents.
